Krista Brown is the APS Leaders Institute Program Coordinator with the APS Workforce Innovations (APSWI) at the Academy for Professional Excellence, where she oversees the implementation of all facets of the ACL funded APS Leadership Institute programs and works with county, state, and national stakeholders to develop curricula and training tools for all levels of APS leadership.
Krista has 18 years working in the aging and adult services field in both direct service and training and professional development roles on both statewide and national levels. She is an active members and consultant for the National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA) where she supports deliverables related to national grants and contracts. She is also a founding member of the California Elder Justice Coalition (CEJC).
Krista is the former Director of Education, American Society on Aging where she supported curriculum development and faculty management for the annual Aging in America Conference and web seminars; managed the Leadership Institute and select National Forums; oversaw the USC/ASA jointly offered online courses and certificates; managed the CEU accreditation programs; and contributed to the overall strategic goals of the organization. She lives in Oakland, CA and enjoys travel, film, and cycling.
