Greetings Academy Partners,
It is with deep regret that I inform you that the Academy will no longer be contracted with San Diego County Behavioral Health Services to deliver workforce education and training services to San Diego County Behavioral Health System after March 31, 2023, with the exception of the Cultural Competence Academy, which will continue through June 30, 2023. As you know, the Academy and our Responsive Integrated Health Solutions (RIHS) program are committed to delivering quality services. We are unable to do so given the resources available for this contract moving forward
San Diego County Behavioral Health Services has extended our existing contract through March 31st, to allow for continuity of services and a smooth transition once they have determined how training to the Behavioral Health System will be provided once our current contract ends.
It has been an honor to partner with and serve San Diego County’s Behavioral Health community these past 15 years. We are proud of all that we have accomplished together and we look forward to the opportunity to partner again in the future.
The ending of the RIHS contract means that beloved members of our Academy Community, our RIHS Program Staff, will be leaving the Academy at the end of March. While we have had staff leave the Academy due to contracts ending in the past, we have not experienced a loss of this magnitude in the Academy’s 26 year history. This is heartbreaking for our Academy Community. We appreciate your support as we go through this difficult time of transition and loss.

Responsive Integrated Health Solutions (RIHS) is part of a network of services made available to the County of San Diego and contracted behavioral health service providers. RIHS provides workforce development and peer education direct service.
RIHS is a County of San Diego Behavioral Health Services contracted program of the Academy for Professional Excellence, a project of the SDSU School of Social Work.
