Delsa Tapia Wilson, LMFT
Delsa Tapia Wilson, LMFT joins the Academy with 21 years of experience in Child Welfare. Her personal journey in child welfare started as a newborn entering foster care in Los Angeles County. “I believe our journey in life leads us back to our purpose” -states Wilson. She earned her undergraduate degree in Child Development from Cal State Los Angeles and furthered her education by obtaining a masters degree in Marriage Family Child Counseling from the University of La Verne.
Delsa fell in love with social work and found her purpose by starting her career as a Foster Care social worker for ten years and then transitioned to a county social worker with Children Family Services – San Bernardino County from 2010 until 2021. She has a passion to help others and inspire youth; that their beginning doesn’t always dictate their ending.
Throughout her tenure with CFS she worked Emergency Services and spent 6 years at the Command post as a supervisor overseeing emergency investigations. Currently Ms. Wilson is employed with San Bernardino County Superior Court as a supervisor providing oversight to the Child Custody Recommending Counselors. It is Delsa’s desire to pour into the future generations of social workers, counselors and mediators the lessons learned and the mistakes that helped her grow.
