Cultural Responsiveness Services - 2025 Graduations

This summer, the Cultural Responsiveness Services (CRS) Team proudly celebrated the graduation of three powerful cohorts from the Cultural Responsiveness Academy (CRA) each one a reflection of deep learning, courageous dialogue, and a shared commitment to equity.

San Diego County – Child and Family Well-Being (June 5)
At San Diego State University, 30 graduates were honored for their work in creating safer, more affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ youth and families. Their projects, ranging from inclusive training modules to culturally attuned tools for refugee and asylee populations, demonstrated how learning can lead to lasting systems change.

San Diego County – Behavioral Health Services (June 11)
In a virtual ceremony, graduates shared how they are transforming behavioral health practices through culturally responsive intake processes and inclusive clinical assessments. Their work is helping to build trust and improve care for diverse communities.

San Bernardino County – Children and Family Services (June 18)
With a moving performance by the Phoenix Family Powwow Dancers, 43 graduates were celebrated for their dedication to working in partnership with Tribes and Tribal Communities. Their learning journey emphasized the importance of cultural identity, historical context, and honoring tradition in child welfare practices.

Across all three cohorts, graduates emerged with new tools and a renewed sense of purpose. Their efforts are already shaping more inclusive, responsive, and human-centered systems of care.

These graduations are milestones in a collective journey toward dignity, belonging, and transformative change.
