In May 2025, a powerful chapter unfolded in the journey of Adult Protective Services (APS) leadership. Ten newly appointed APS Supervisors from Southern California completed the APS Supervisor Coaching Program, an experience designed for growth and transformation.

This program wasn’t about checking boxes but deepening purpose, and strengthening the kind of leadership that makes a lasting difference. Through a blend of ten individual coaching sessions and four group sessions, participants received personalized support and peer connection that enriched their learning and helped bring their training to life.

Dawn Gibbons-McWayne, APSWI’s Program Director, led this journey. Drawing on her experience as a former APS Specialist and Supervisor, she made the learning deeply relatable. She helped supervisors connect the material to their day-to-day realities and supported a meaningful transfer of learning into practice

We celebrate these supervisors for completing the program and stepping into their roles with renewed clarity and courage. We also extend heartfelt thanks to the APS Managers who joined in honoring their teams, your support is the foundation of lasting change.
