Leading through Uncertain and Challenging Times is a matter of relevance for all leaders in our present time across industries. Jennifer Brandsford-Koons, Director for Aging & Independence Services and Public Administrator/Public Guardian for the County of San Diego’s Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) presented on this topic at our APS Leaders Institute virtual workshop. We are grateful for Jennifer’s expertise and the real-life stories she shared as a leader in the Adult Protective Services industry for over 30 years.
Attendees expressed appreciation of the timing and relevance of this discussion and found value in sharing about the challenges they are facing in a space like this in a more intimate setting as breakout groups. They also shared the excitement to go back to their teams and be able to share the insight gained in these conversations. We are always happy to hear how people are intending to apply the knowledge gained at our different learning and development experiences. One of the participants highlighted the importance of maintaining their priority of psychological safety while managing change. Feedback like this confirms alignment with our promise to deliver learning experiences that change hearts, minds and practice. The APS Leaders Institute reaches a statewide audience so we know that their growth will impact professionals from as far as Siskiyou and Del Norte counties all the way to San Diego county.
