Trainer Biography
Tanyel Butler, MS
Ms. Butler received her BA in Child and Adolescent Development with a concentration in Youth and Family from San Francisco State University in 2003. She obtained her MS in Child Development from the University of La Verne in 2007. Ms. Butler has been in the social work field for 13 years. She began her experience working as a counselor and Case Manager for at-risk youth in residential treatment settings. In 2006, Ms. Butler joined Riverside County’s Children Services Division. Since that time, she has worked as a Court Dependency Unit social worker, Court Officer, and Children’s Social Services Supervisor, supervising both Investigative Services and Continuing Services units. Ms. Butler’s current position is with Riverside County’s Administrative Services Division as a Staff Development Officer for Children’s Services, where she is able to solely focus on developing new staff. In this position, Ms. Butler is able to utilize her field and court experience to conduct induction training for newly hired Children’s Services social workers as well as in-service trainings county-wide.
