Ashton Fulcher

Mr. Ashton Fulcher is an experienced trainer and facilitator, an accomplished entrepreneur alongside his wife, as co-owners of a local bookstore, and a forward-thinking innovator. His professional endeavors have included supporting and improving various aspects of the systems of care, strengthening the family unit, and community empowerment within the diverse San Diego community.

Currently, Mr. Fulcher holds the position of Trainer and Facilitator with the Academy of Professional Excellence, where he brings a wealth of knowledge and substantial personal experience to the forefront in the topics of Trauma Informed Care, Mental Health Advocacy and Destigmatization, and Engagement. He particularly enjoys opportunities to collaborate with Social Workers and other professionals who work within the foster care system. Given Mr. Fulcher’s lived experiences and personal connection with the foster care system, he is adept at providing profound insights, designing pragmatic curricula, and guiding workshops and training sessions regarding crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and trauma-informed care.

Mr. Fulcher’s journey with developing curricula and facilitating workshops began many years ago when he was presented the opportunity to establish an innovative high school program within the San Diego School Unified District. There, he crafted an innovative curriculum focused on trauma-informed care and destigmatizing mental illness, with the principal aim of connecting students and families to essential resources. In this role, he rotated to multiple campuses, igniting a passion for training which continues today. His love for this work is further boosted by his extensive experience as a residential care worker in group homes, as well as coaching and facilitating workshops for transitional-age youth (aged 16 to 25), helping to teach them valuable life skills, emotional regulation, and decision-making skills. 

Mr. Fulcher is on the cusp of completing his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with interest in completing his Masters as a MFT, further enriching his profound expertise in the field. He is dedicated to making a positive and lasting impact on the lives of others.
