Briana Cueva
Born and raised in San Diego, CA, I was primarily nurtured by my grandmother and experienced the challenges of foster care at a young age. My journey has been one of resilience, determination, and growth. At 12, I faced the profound loss of my mother, who passed away while incarcerated. This pivotal moment shaped my drive to navigate life’s complexities and seek purpose through education, family, and service.
While raising a family, I earned my degree in Psychology, demonstrating a deep commitment to my personal and professional goals. I later became my grandmother’s caregiver while pursuing a Master’s in Social Work and welcoming my youngest child. Throughout my journey, I have supported my younger twin brothers during their incarceration, offering guidance and unwavering encouragement during challenging times.
Through perseverance and dedication, I’ve immersed myself in diverse environments, equipping me with the skills to be well-rounded, empathetic, and informed. My background in therapy, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care has enabled me to connect naturally with others, fostering trust and engagement in even the most difficult circumstances.
As a proud foster care alumnus, I am deeply committed to empowering others and advocating for underserved communities. My extensive work in San Diego has provided me with unique insights and experiences, shaping me into an effective provider and a compassionate leader.
I am honored to have built a career that reflects my values of resilience, empathy, and service, and I continue to strive for excellence in all that I do.
