CQI: Adopting a Learner Mindset, November 2022

The goal of Continuous Quality Improvement is to learn from the data you collect in order to make systemic improvements and identify and address challenges.  This process requires the adoption of a learner mindset in order to support the implementation of system improvement processes.  A learner mindset involves taking the perspective that every experience is a learning opportunity; it requires the humility to say that there are areas that can be improved in our own practice no matter what our role is.  This learner mindset requires the individual to set their ego aside, but it also requires that leadership supports the individual when an area in need of improvement is identified.  This creates a learning culture where individuals are open to feedback and peers support one another in improving their practice throughout their careers.
