On Sept 7th, three (3) APSWI team members travelled up to Bellevue, Washington to attend and present a total of five (5) workshops at the 36th annual National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA) conference. APSWI’s Program Director, Dawn Gibbons-Mcwayne, Training Operations Manager, Emily Sulpizio, and Workforce Development Supervisor Kat Preston-Wager co-facilitated with county partners as well as each other during the following workshops:
- APS Leaders Institute: Supporting the Workforce Development Needs of APS Administrators & Adult Services Leaders
- The Art of Insight: Cultivating Critical Analysis Habits
- Training and Coaching for APS Supervisors: Meeting the Evolving Needs for APS Supervisors
- Incorporating Neuroscience of Learning in APS Training Efforts
- Power and Control: What does this look like? How does this happen? How do I help?
The conference brought opportunities to highlight workforce development support that APSWI offers as well as dedicated moments focused on professional development which we will incorporate in future learning experiences. It was an honor to network with those involved in supporting older adults and adults with disabilities and build new connections.
