Rebecca Lowry, MSW

Rebecca is a Curriculum Development Specialist, working within the Workforce Management Development Team. She focuses on the accessibility and relevance of resources, honoring multiple ways of being and knowing. Rebecca recently completed her role in supporting the production of California State’s first ever K-12 NAS Model Curriculum. These digital resources are free and open for all to learn about the history and living cultures of Native California peoples at https://camodelcurricula.ucdavis.edu/modelcurricula. Although Rebecca has worked in project management, education and social work, she is also an active artist. Her poetry was published in Lenapehoking, an Anthology, produced by the Brooklyn Public Library and the Lenape Center. She wove a turkey feather cape that is currently exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum. As a citizen of the Delaware Tribe of Indians, she writes poems about the historical perspectives and contemporary lived experiences of Leape people. She periodically travels back to her homeland, Lenapehoking, to give poetry readings and build community.
