Donovan Ackley III is part of the Workforce Management and Development Team in the Learning and Brand Development Unit of the Strategy, Development, and Organizational Advancement Division. Donovan’s current role is to oversee the development, coordination, and management of curricula that meet the
needs of Academy staff, county and state partners, developing curricula, training tools, and enhancements. Donovan has worked for the SDSU Research Foundation since 2021 and has a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Religion, a current California Certified Alcohol and Drug Certification, and Peer Support Specialist training. A co-founder of community-based national peer support suicide prevention organization Trans Lifeline, Donovan enjoys learning about and from native birds, plants, and people, especially about local traditions of music, food, and community-building.
