Cultural Responsiveness Academy 22-23

This year we will be delivering Cultural Responsiveness Academy classes in San Bernardino and San Diego County.  Child and Family Services staff in San Bernardino County will have the opportunity to take part in our new CRA series “System of Care: A California Core Practice Model Approach to Working with Tribes and Tribal Communities”.  This series is focused on the Tribes and Tribal communities within San Bernardino County and was developed with input from Tribal representatives, subject matter experts, community service providers, and CFS staff.  The curriculum was designed to highlight how culturally responsive practice reinforces practice behaviors from the CA Core Practice Model.

In San Diego County, Child Welfare Services staff will once again be able to take part in the “Engaging Fathers Involved with Child Welfare Services” series which was last offered in 2020-2021.  This series is focused on improving engagement with fathers who are often undervalued or overlooked within the CWS system.  Learners enrolled in this series will have the opportunity to utilize the CRA Implementation Assessment Tool to self-assess their implementation of culturally responsive practice in their role.  This tool will facilitate critical thinking and allow learners to create their own path on their learning journey through the CRA.
