Staff Biography

Wendy Mejia, MPH
CWDS County Consultant - San Bernardino County

Wendy Mejia serves as the Child Welfare Development Services (CWDS) Consultant for San Bernardino County. Wendy was born and raised in City Heights, located nearly three miles away from San Diego State University. Wendy earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology as well as her Master of Public Health from San Diego State University. She began her career at Rady Children’s Hospital as a Program Coordinator for the Center for Healthier Communities, focusing on injury prevention and youth development initiatives.
Since 2016, Wendy has worked extensively with non-profit organizations and grant-funded projects serving K-12 schools in underserved communities across San Diego County. Her knowledge in grant writing, along with her expertise in program development and management, supported the successful acquisition of multiple half-million-dollar grants. She brings a strong foundation in health education and community engagement. Outside of her professional endeavors, Wendy enjoys baking sourdough bread and exploring new culinary techniques.
