Dawn Gibbons-McWayne is the Progam Director for the Adult Protective Services Workforce Innovations (APSWI) program. APSWI provides innovative workforce development to Adult Protective Services professionals and their partners.
Dawn has a Master of Social Work degree and is licensed as a clinical social worker (LCSW). She has over 25 years of experience working with and on behalf of older adults and adults with disabilities. She worked for 14 years in the County of San Diego’s Adult Protective Services (APS) program as an APS Specialist and as a Supervisor.
Dawn is a great advocate for APS professionals and for the continued advancement of APS workforce development and is considered a subject matter expert regarding APS matters.
