Brenda Guzman has been in the field of early childhood education since 1995 providing instruction to infants, toddlers, and preschool age children. During her career, she taught in family child care homes, private, state and federally funded programs.  As her role grew and developed she held many titles. She was a neighborhood education specialist, parent advocate, and technical assistance specialist supporting the needs of teachers, parents and children in the program.

Over time her role evolved, she was the lead assessor for health and safety, program compliance and educational interactions for Ventura County Office of Education.  Brenda is trained and certified in multiple educational assessment tools. Her assessment work supported the Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS) which is a framework to measure high quality educational programs.

In addition, Brenda provided many developmental trainings for administrators, teachers, parents and caregivers. In closing, she facilitated instruction to children, observed, trained and coached hundreds of teachers who serve the children and families of Ventura County.

For the past 5 years, Brenda was an Educational Coach for Teachstone Training, LLC.  In that capacity, Brenda implemented the CLASS System, which is a research based, reliable and valid assessment tool. Using the CLASS system as a platform for change, she coached early childhood instructors individually, in pairs and in trios of teachers.

Brenda is passionate about early childhood education, training, assessing and coaching.  She sees herself as a vehicle for positive change.  She seeks to help individuals find their way on their professional journey.
