Vanessa Girard
Vanessa Girard is a licensed clinical social worker at the VA San Diego Healthcare System. As part of her role, she supervises social work interns and post-master’s fellows, as well as psychology trainees, in an award-winning outpatient mental health clinic that provides recovery-oriented psychotherapies and psychosocial rehabilitation services. In 2017, she received a Death and Grief studies certification from the Center for Loss and Life Transition in Fort Collins, CO, after completing 150 hours of specialized training in bereavement care under the supervision of Dr. Alan Wolfelt. She has used this knowledge to implement individual and group programming specific to bereaved Veterans. She is enthusiastic about working with Veterans and their family members and improving quality of care and service delivery.
