Trainer Biography
Tiana Vargas
Tiana Vargas (they/them) is the Director of Training and Community Education for The San Diego LGBT Community Center. They are a queer, transgender, and nonbinary educator from San Diego, CA the ancestral homeland of the Kumeyaay people. Tiana has a BA in Chicana/o Studies and LGBT Studies from San Diego State University and focuses on issues of racial and gender justice, masculinities, sexualities and relationships, equity, and inclusion. Since 2014, Tiana has designed tailored training for individuals and organizations who are committed to providing affirming services for a diverse range of clients. They have trained a variety of service providers including; social workers, police officers, school administrations, healthcare organizations, family building providers and birth workers.
