Trainer Biography
Terri Garcia, B.S., CADC III-CA, SUDC III – CS
Terri Garcia has worked in behavioral health since 1999 in various capacities, working with adolescents and adults with co-occurring disorders. Terri has had direct oversight of both outpatient and residential treatment facilities throughout her career and has been training community partners for over 15 years as a certified trainer with Mental Health Systems, Inc. and now with RHIS. She is also the founder of Empowered Through Choice Training Services, LLC, providing personal and professional growth trainings to groups and individuals. Terri sees the world through a gender responsive, trauma informed lens and honors people for who they are. She strives to reach individuals of all ages and experiences through her trainings and seminars. Terri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on addiction, counseling, child development and psychology. She is a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor III and Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor III -Clinical Supervisor and now moving on to a Masters degree in Executive Leadership. In 2018 Terri developed the Relapse Prevention training and has been providing the training ever since. She has been actively involved with the San Diego CADRE series, training various modules since 2019 and most recently in 2021 facilitating Harm Reduction trainings and webinars.
