Trainer Biography

Soraiya Khamisa, LCSW

Soraiya (they/them) is a POC gender-affirming therapist that prides themselves on serving the communities they inhabit. They’ve built their career on working with college and graduate students of color, queer and trans individuals, and universities and businesses that want to make space for growth opportunities. They believe that education is the first step to creating a more inclusive environment for our communities as there needs to be systemic changes to most of our historic systems. Soraiya is currently the owner and therapist at Rada Therapy, a practice that prides themselves on serving Trans* and Queer People of Color. Their dedication to Trans* and Queer mental health is proven in not only the individual therapy they provide to clients, but through my involvement with outreach, developing and implementing trainings, and through their leadership roles ensuring that gender diverse clients have quality care and support. Soraiya has spent time providing trainings both within places they have been employed and within the larger community, both nationally and internationally, on creating Trans* inclusive spaces, implementing gender affirming practices within companies and campuses, and educating professionals on working within the Trans* and Queer communities.
