Trainer Biography
Rachel Bavis
Rachel Bavis is a certified Intentional Creativity© teacher, trainer and child welfare lawyer working with organizations, individuals, and youth. In her experiential trainings, she uses mindfulness, and creative expression practices to support rejuvenation, self-care and healing from secondary traumatic stress to enhance work-life resilience.
After representing social workers in child welfare cases for twelve years as an Orange County Counsel Deputy, she embarked on a seven-year personal journey, studying in communities around the world to explore healing practices. Art, mindfulness and journaling practices are in her tool kit, along with whimsy, humor, and chocolate.
Ms. Bavis received a Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications with a minor in Studio Art from Hunter College, City University of New York. In 2014, she became a certified Intentional Creativity© coach and teacher, studying with the method’s founder. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, who is also an artist and frequently assists Ms. Bavis during her workshops. For more information, see www.rachelbavis.com.
