Nisha Limbrick Elliott, M.S. is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist trained in Clinical Psychology. In attending Virginia State University, a Historically Black College University (HBCU), she deepened her interest in serving the community specifically as it relates to Mental Health and Wellness. Thus, after graduating from college with her Master’s Degree, she returned to California and began working for the Riverside County Department of Mental Health/Behavioral Health and has remained with the department for 22 years. She has worked in both Adult and Children Mental Health services. She is currently the Manager over Workforce Education and Training for the Riverside Behavioral Health department. Ms. Elliott has served on several committees, for the last 13 years. Committees that have developed policies and procedures to make changes for the Mental Health system, the Child Welfare system and the Probation system which ultimately had an impact on the community that Riverside serves. She has been the chair and now co-chair for a department African America cultural competency committee. Ms. Elliott is a certified trainer in Trauma Informed Systems. In this role she helps train and transform the department staff to make organizational changes to ensure that Trauma informed Healing practices are at the forefront of the work that they do. She also facilitates training to help educate and grow the clinical knowledge base of students and unlicensed clinicians alike. Additionally, she serves in her community working with wives and teen girls with her organization TransPhormation Counseling and Coaching services. She also is a Cardio Kick box instructor in a community gym. Whether working for the county or in the community, her passion is to advocate for change and to address Youth and Adolescent Needs, work with Couples, as well as to promote overall Wellness (Mind, Body and Spirit).
