Marilyn Kaufhold, MD

Marilyn Kaufhold, M.D. is a child abuse pediatrician who has been associated with the Child Protection Team at Children’s Hospital, San Diego since 1978.   She retired as Assistant Medical Director, responsible for the Forensic and Medical Unit of the Chadwick Center for Children and Families in 2011.   She continues to do clinical work in child abuse pediatrics as well as training.   Her medical education was at St. Louis University School of Medicine.   Her Pediatric training was at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the University of Miami.   Following a fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics, she worked in the field of developmental disabilities for 19 years before becoming involved child abuse issues.   She is board certified in Pediatrics and Child Abuse Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and the Helfer Society.
