Emilia Pineda, LCSW
Emilia Pineda, LCSW, is a California State University, Sacramento alumna holding a Juris Doctor Degree from Southern California Institute of Law. She is currently working as a permanency planning mediator for a nonprofit agency. My professional experience includes working for a Domestic Violence Center providing individual counseling and co-facilitating intimate partners violence and adults molested as children support groups. She also worked as a mental health provider for a local medical center supporting and helping pregnant and parenting parents experiencing intimate partner violence and depression.
Pineda has over 26 years of experience working in child welfare services. She worked as a child welfare social worker for the County of Sacramento for 11 years and over 15 years for the County of Ventura, where she served children and families as a child welfare social worker and a supervisor. Her child welfare experience includes the following programs: Emergency Response, Family Reunification, Permanency Planning (adoption and legal guardianship), Extended foster care (AB12), and the Resource Family Approval Program (RFA).
Additionally, Pineda provided permanency planning and RFA orientations and training in-house and to community-based organizations on out-of-home care, concurrent and permanency planning. She was involved in the early stages of the implementation of the RFA Program in Ventura County. She has also trained Adoptions and RFA staff on concurrent planning, permanency, and Specialized Resource families. She participated in various workgroups at the County and State levels, including Extended Foster Care (AB12) and out-of-county protocols for the RFA Program. Pineda loves running, the outdoors, and traveling.
