Trainer Biography
Danna Parrino
Danna Parrino is a graduate from SDSU with bachelors in Psychology. With 26 years of experience, her areas of expertise are Family Finding, Placement, Community Development, Pilot Projects, Family Team Meetings, Supervision, and Management.
She began her career with the County of San Diego right after graduating college in 1988. She worked as a childcare worker at the children’s shelter, (Hillcrest Receiving Home) and progressed through the system accepting positions in Eligibility and finally Child Welfare. She has spent time in most programs – Continuing Services, Court Intervention, IFPP and Placement. She retired as a CWS Manager in 2014.
She thoroughly enjoyed her career. “It is one of the most important jobs in our communities and very fulfilling to know you are impacting the life of our most vulnerable children” –states Danna.
She is an avid hiker, custom baker and became a Noni to her first grandson in January 2023.
She hopes to facilitate engaged discussions about topics in Child Welfare and encourage/ validate Social Workers who enter this most important field of protecting children and preserving families.
