Trainer Biography
Crystal Shackleford, MSW
Crystal attended the University of California at Riverside for her Bachelor of Arts degree in the cooperative major of Sociology and Law & Society and California State University, San Bernardino, where she earned her MSW as a Title IVE recipient.
Crystal was with the Riverside County Children’s Services Division for over 20 years serving in various roles including: dependency investigations, forensic interviewing, developing and supervising the Professional Intern program, group facilitator for Parents United treatment groups, Staff Development Officer, and Regional Manager.
Since 2018, she has been the manager over the Riverside County Child Assessment Team, which is a county-hospital-based Child Advocacy Center providing the services of forensic interviewing and exam, family advocacy, clinical therapy, and collaboration with multidisciplinary team partners toward child abuse investigation and response.
Her particular areas of interest in child welfare include best practices in client and staff engagement, SDM and assessment, case planning, and child interviewing.
For intentional self-care, Crystal enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, exercising, and savoring time with her son, close friends, and 3 crazy dogs.
Crystal has trained for the PCWTA since 2009.
