Kimberly Berru

My name is Kimberly Berru and I am a Practice Coach at the Academy for Professional Excellence with the SDSU School of Social Work, where I work in partnership with Riverside County. In my role, I provide coaching and workforce development services to public child welfare staff at the clerical, social worker and social work supervisory level.

I have been with the Academy and CWDS for since 2021 as a Practice Coach & Trainer and have served in the helping professions and various coaching and leadership roles throughout my career. I came to the Academy with a Masters in Counseling Pysch as well as years as a Career Specialist in the UC system, supporting students and professionals with their career paths and professional development plans. Prior to that, I worked in different capacities for social service agencies, higher education institutions and nonprofits. Outside of CWDS, I am an adjunct professor at CBU and support students in their graduate practicum internships.
