Trainer’s Forum 2015 – Spectrum of Learning
Level: Advanced Practice – Child Welfare Trainers
Credits: eLearning – 1 for each eLearning class; Classroom – 6
Intended Audience: CWDS Trainers
Description of Course: In preparation for Line Worker CORE 3.0, trainers will have the opportunity to experience a spectrum of learning delivery model using eLearning, classroom skill building and coaching. The training content includes Pathways (Katie A.), Safety Organized Practice, Engaging Fathers and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. These themes have been identified by counties as promising practices to incorporate in their practice.
Intended Objectives:
- Become aware of the practices above using a spectrum of learning approach (eLearning, classroom, coaching)
- Be able to discuss how to incorporate the above practices in training
- Be able to develop an action plan for incorporating the above practices into training
- Be able to appreciate how coaching supports training and improves practice
Topics Include:
- eLearning: Introduction to Safety Organized Practice, CORE Practice Model Overview: Understanding the Katie A. Lawsuit, Engaging Fathers and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children
- Learning Circles: Facilitated by trainers who have expertise in the above practices, discuss how to incorporate the above practices in training and develop an individual action plan on how the above practices will be incorporated into your training
- Coaching: Overview of the concept of coaching and how to incorporate coaching into your training
