Family First Prevention Services Act

October 1st marked the start of many significant changes as it relates to the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA).  FFPSA has prompted a lot of discussion and questions as it is the largest shift in child welfare in twenty years.  As information is developing, the Academy is working diligently to gather and share tools, resources, and knowledge to support our region.  As part of this support, we are working on an eLearning to be released later this fiscal year.  Additionally, we will be holding two convenings, one on November 17th and one in the spring of 2022.  It is our goal to create avenues that provide space for collaboration and learning.  Please keep an eye out for more information as it develops.  Additionally, please feel free to reach out to our FFPSA lead if you have any questions, Nicole Heesen at nheesen@sdsu.edu.
