Sara Zare
Sara is a leadership educator, scholar, and organizational development practitioner with expertise in organizational culture, systems change, civic engagement, and leadership development. Her research focuses on leadership education and organizational behavior, and her work has been featured in esteemed journals such as the Journal of Leadership and Accountability and Ethics and Studies in Higher Education.
In her previous role as Director of Organizational Effectiveness and HR Strategy at a nonprofit university, Sara spearheaded institution-wide initiatives to foster faculty engagement and empowerment. She designed and implemented an inclusive strategic planning process that emphasized collaboration and involvement, reflecting her commitment to shared leadership.
Currently, Sara serves as the Organization Development Manager at the Port of San Diego, where she leads comprehensive, agency-wide organizational development strategies. As an educator, researcher, and practitioner, she finds deep fulfillment in helping organizations cultivate cultures rooted in collective impact, inclusivity, and social responsibility.
