Trainer of the Quarter, Janice Boafo

Janice Boafo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Consultant, Coach, Trainer and Facilitator. She is also the founder of Evergreen Cypher, Inc. Ms. Boafo’s professional life is informed by her lived experiences and over 25 years of work in human services and behavioral health. Janice is committed to whole person coaching and believes in the importance of being authentically seen and heard.

Ms. Boafo graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education from California State University, Northridge and a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. In all spaces, Janice is dedicated to culturally responsive practice, community healing, strengthening family connections, the transformational power of story sharing and the behavioral health recovery model.

Outside of the Academy, Janice spends her time as a fost/adopt parent, volunteer, nature lover, Community Services Teacher – providing training to resource families across Los Angeles County and as a writer.

Janice provides a diversity of services for CWDS, including Common Core 3.5 trainings, writing Probation curriculum, and training many advanced deliveries. She is professional, flexible and responsive to CWDS’s changing needs. Adrian says “She has a wide breadth of knowledge and experience that give her the ability to deepen the impact of class curriculum. In the CRA program, there is a shift from a role as a trainer to that of a facilitator and Janice has adapted to the role with relative ease, encouraging learners to think critically through her use of thoughtful inquiry.”
