CWDS Training Recruitments and Criteria Fall 2021

Note: All courses listed below are statewide standardized.  

Core 3.5 

Statewide requirements to facilitate Core 3.5 trainings include completion of the following:

  • Review of Core 3.5 content on CalSWEC website
  • Core 3.5 Trainer Overview (in CACWT) 
  • Completion of or Proof of Completion of Facilitation Skills Training
  • For new Trainers: A Series of videos/webinars that will be available in January 2022

Concurrent Planning #2 FY 21/21: Concurrent Planning: Conversations and Documentation*

Per statewide requirements to be eligible to facilitate this fiscal years (FY 21/22) Concurrent Planning training you must complete the Concurrent Planning: Conversations and Documentation T4T in the CACWT System.  This T4T is only available in the statewide CACWT system and requires self enrollment. If you are interested in facilitating this course please complete the required T4T and submit a screenshot of your completion to ashackelford@sdsu.edu and your name will be added to our internal active trainer list for this second statewide Concurrent Planning course.  

* Please note this is a different Concurrent Planning course than the initial course that was delivered in FY 20/21 entitled: Concurrent Planning: Principles of Concurrent Planning

CANS (Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths)

Criteria for CANS trainers:

  • Master’s degree in public policy, social work, developmental or clinical psychology or other relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience training, teaching or providing social work supervision on child welfare concepts and practice principles including but not limited to: screening, assessment, treatment planning, treatment monitoring, outcomes management and the use of data in social work practice
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of person centered care and systems of care principles; knowledge of mental health, behavioral health and child welfare systems.
  • Clinical experience is preferred not required
  • Participation in a Training for Trainers (T4T) only delivered by Praed. Dates TBD
  • Completion of the CANS Certification exam via PRAED. (after completion of the T4T training)
