Mark MIller

Mark Miller, MPA, MA

Mark Miller has worked in public child welfare since 1983 as a line worker, supervisor & manager. He recently retired from the County of Los Angeles, Department of Children and Family Services where he worked for 32 years.  During his tenure, he held responsibilities in Regional Operation and High Risk Services and also served as Director of Training and Development in L.A. DCFS for 11 years.

Building on his experience in child welfare and his graduate work in Training and Development, Mark has designed and delivered training and provided coaching and consultation on child welfare topics since 1986 for Los Angeles County, the State’s Child Welfare Training Project and various State/University Training Academies. As the Regional Training Academies were formed in the mid- nineties, he and several other trainers assisted the academies via Training for Trainers in launching early modules.   His primary areas of training and coaching interest and expertise include: Risk/Safety Assessment; Case Planning and Intervention; Caseload and Workload Analysis through Business Process Re-engineering; Cross System Collaboration and Teaming; and Core/Advanced Supervisor Training and Management Training.
