Trainer Biography

Lisa McCulloch, LCSW

Lisa McCulloch earned her BA in Psychology from the University of Virginia in 1985. She took a break from school and moved to San Diego where she worked with children, adolescents, and adults in an acute care psychiatric facility. Ms. McCulloch went on to earn her MSW from San Diego State University in 1991 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California in 1994. In the course of her education, Ms. McCulloch interned at the S.T.E.P.S. program, providing individual and group treatment for adolescent sex offenders, and at the Child Sexual Abuse Treatment Program (CSATP), providing individual, group and family therapy for victims of sexual abuse and their families.

Ms. McCulloch worked as a Protective Services Worker for the County of San Diego from 1991-1995. She left the county to become a Forensic Interviewer at the Chadwick Center at Rady Children’s Hospital in 1995, where she is currently employed. Ms. McCulloch has extensive knowledge and experience in child interviewing, abuse dynamics and identification, and the impact of trauma. In addition to her work as an interviewer, Ms. McCulloch has also been responsible for revising the online training for mandated reporters of child abuse in California, and revised the publication, “The California Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Law: Issues and Answers for Mandated Reporters”. Ms. McCulloch has also been involved in working with staff at the Chadwick Center on addressing issues of compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma and with the hospital’s Wellness Committee.
