Trainer Biography
Kimberly Giardina, MSW
Kim Giardina has been in the field of child welfare for fourteen years. She is currently a Child Welfare Manager in San Diego County, working in the Policy and Program Support Division. Kim currently has responsibility for special projects, data, Continuous Quality Improvement, and Training. She has an MSW from San Diego State University School of Social Work. She has spent most of her social work career working in child welfare in San Diego County and has been a worker, supervisor, and manager.
Kim helped redesign the delivery of child welfare services with the development of the Neighborhoods for Kids program in the East Region. She has been part of San Diego’s implementation of Safety-Organized Practice since it began in 2010. Kim has also worked as a trainer and Practice Consultant with the Academy for Professional Excellence focusing on the implementation of Safety-Organized Practice and Structured Decision Making.
