Trainer Biography

Jennifer Kadas, MSW

Ms. Kadas has been employed in the social work field for 13 years as both a caseworker and supervisor. She has experience working with children in residential treatment, assisting transition-aged foster youth with independent living skills, facilitating therapeutic groups for women in substance abuse treatment, providing supportive services to seniors in assisted living, and protecting children and strengthening families with Child Welfare Services (CWS). She received her BA in Psychology from St. Louis University in 2003 and obtained her MSW from San Diego State University’s Title IV-E Program in 2010.

During her nine years in San Diego County Child Welfare Services, Ms. Kadas has gained experience in the areas of Emergency Response, Adoptions, Intensive Family Preservation Program, Foster/Adoptive Home Recruitment, Child Abuse Hotline, Polinsky Children’s Center, Critical Assessment Release Early (CARE) Program, Court Unit, and is currently in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Unit of the Policy and Program Support division.

In addition to her casework experience, Ms. Kadas has been trained as a Team Decision Making (TDM) facilitator, was a regional representative for Safety Organized Practice (SOP), served as a mentor for new staff, and has led trainings for Agency staff and community partners on various aspects of Child Welfare Services. She is a certified Child and Family Service Review (CFSR) case reviewer and has also provided trainings on this process. She participated in the implementation of the Safety Enhanced Together (SET) Core Practice Model and has an integral role in the process of evaluating San Diego’s use of best practices to improve outcomes for the children and families in partnership with CWS.
