Trainer Biography
Michael Perry, MSW
Michael Perry has over 25 years experience working with troubled and at-risk youth in a variety of settings. Mr. Perry began his social work career in 1973 as a group home counselor serving at-risk teens, placed for long-term care, and in 1979 completed his graduate work at the University of Washington, Seattle.
Since that time, Mr. Perry has been a Social Worker, Supervisor, Program Director, Director of Staff Development, and Administrator in programs serving youth placed in out of home care.Mr. Perry’s areas of expertise are crisis intervention, aggression, and the residential treatment of troubled and troubling children and youth.
In addition to having his own consultation and training organization, Mr. Perry is a senior trainer for the Life Space Crisis Intervention Institute of Hagerstown, MD, a trainer for a school based program called No Disposable Kids, and an instructor at Cerritos Colleges’ Foster Parent Education Program.
