Janice Boafo, LCSW
Practice Coach - Ventura County
Janice Boafo is a Child Welfare Practice Coach serving Ventura County. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education from California State University, Northridge and a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. Ms. Boafo has over twenty-five years of experience in behavioral health and social services including clinical practice, program development, policy implementation, risk management, prevention and community needs assessment. Immediately prior to joining the Academy, Janice was an Emergency Response Child Welfare Social Work and a Child & Family Team Meeting Facilitator in Ventura County.
Janice’s professional life is informed by her lived experience. She believes in whole person coaching and the importance of being authentically seen and heard. Ms. Boafo is dedicated to culturally responsive practice, community healing, family connections, the power of story sharing, and the behavioral health recovery model. Outside of the Academy, Janice spends her time as a fost/adopt parent, volunteer, nature lover, and a Community Services Teacher – providing training to resource families across Los Angeles County.
