Trainer Biography

Rachel Mahoney, ASW

Rachel Mahoney serves as Clinical Case Manager of Survivors of Torture, International (SURVIVORS). Prior to her current role, Rachel served SURVIVORS as a Clinical Intern during her Master of Social Work studies at San Diego State University and as a Mental Health Contractor for SURVIVORS’ Refugee School Impact Grant (RSIG) program by providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy support groups for resettled refugee youth. Rachel has provided trainings for social service organizations, refugee resettlement workers, mental health clinicians, and students on torture treatment, culturally responsive mental health approaches, holistic trauma treatment, and human rights promotion. Before coming to SURVIVORS, Rachel provided individual and group therapy at Jewish Family Service of San Diego and provided ABA therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays.
