Myesha Barton, LMFT

My name is Dr. Myesha Barton and I have an Education Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University San Diego. I started my career path as a substitute teacher after graduating from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors in psychology in 2007. I later relocated to San Diego after two years of teaching due to getting accepted into Argosy University’s Masters of Counseling Psychology in Marriage and Family Therapy Program. While at Argosy I worked as a teacher assistant in various course ranching from bachelors to graduate level courses.

Most of my clinical work began after starting my Practicum for Community research Foundation (CRF) in 2011. Since then, I have worked for Community Research Foundation implementing treatment modalities such as DBT, CBT, Solution Focused therapy, along with Motivational Interviewing at an acute psychiatric residential program that treats individuals with co-occurring disorders. I also have work experience in outpatient services and working with children and families through CRF. I am currently the Assistant program Director for Del Sur Crisis Center.

Most recently, I have become the Co-Chair of CADRE. I have been involved with CADRE since 2013. I am a recent graduate and currently gaining post-doctorate hours towards licensure as a psychologist. Lastly, I’m nearing the completion of my hours to become a Behavioral Health Tobacco Treatment Specialist – Certification (TTS-C).
