Louise Zavala, LMFT
Louise Zavala is a California licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Behavioral Health Services for the County of San Diego’s Health and Human Services Agency. She currently works as a liaison for Pathways to Well-Being, San Diego County’s implementation of the Katie A. Settlement Agreement.
Louise received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Master of Science degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from San Diego State University.
She is certified in AIM HI and Incredible Years Parenting Program and extensive training in Parent Child Interactive Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
Louise previously worked at Vista Hill, Sam and Rose Stein Education Centers, UCSD Family and Preventive Medicine/Smokers Helpline, Union for Pan Asian Communities, San Diego Hospice Palliative Care and San Diego Center for Children.
Louise is an active volunteer with Urban Surf 4 Kids, a unique outreach organization that works with orphan and foster kids. Urban Surf 4 Kids hosts an annual Dreaming of Aloha Achievement Program. The program allows selected foster youth to experience an ohana vacation and to volunteer and serve others in Hawaii. Louise was fortunate to be able to adopt her son at one of those ohana vacations!
