Cristina Bautista, PsyD
My name is Dr. Cristina Bautista. I have a degree in Clinical Psychology from Southern California Seminary. I have been teaching all of my life. I first began as a K-12 teacher in the Los Angeles School District and also for Special Education through the Department of Education in San Bernardino. I facilitated many trainings while employed at University of Phoenix for about 5 years. I then chose to pursue my other passion of psychology and after gaining my degree in Marriage and Family Therapy I began working as a therapist.
Most of my work has been with County Mental Health and with the population of children and families. I have been trained in many modalities such as family therapy, DBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing. I work very closely with other organizations such as Therapeutic Behavioral Services, Child Welfare Services, and various school districts. In addition, I have experience working in inpatient settings working with adolescents and adults both in substance abuse and mood disorders. Finally, I have experience working specifically with substance abuse while I was employed at McAlister Institute.
Most recently, I have been an Adjunct Faculty member at various colleges and universities and currently teach at San Diego Christian College. I also work at a County Mental Health clinic at the South Bay region.
