General Information

Where can I find out more about the CYF-SOC Conference 2020?

Where will the Conference be held? 
The CYF-SOC Conference will be held at Crowne Plaza Mission Valley, in the Grand Hanelei Ballroom. The address is:

What is the schedule for the Conference? 
The conference begins with registration and a continental breakfast from 8:00 am – 8:30 am. Programming will begin promptly at 8:30 am. There will be a mid-morning 15 minute break, an hour lunch, and another 15 minute break in the mid-afternoon. The conference will end at 4:30 pm.

Will parking be available? 
The registration fee for the conference includes parking. Validation coupons will be handed out during conference check-in. Parking for the conference at Crowne Plaza Mission Valley will be in the north parking area by the Grand Hanelei Ballroom. Click here for a map for parking and the Grand Hanelei Ballroom.

Will food be provided? 
A continental breakfast will be provided between 8:00 am-8:30 am. Conference participants will be provided with a buffet style lunch. Vegan and gluten-free options will be available. Light refreshments will be served during conference breaks.

What is the refund policy? 

These events are contingent on the lifting of the Gathering Guidance released on 3/11/2020 by the California Public Health Department in response to COVID-19. All tickets will be refunded 7 days prior to the conference if the Gathering Guidance has not been lifted. For all other non-COVID-19 related cancellations, refunds will be issued for registrations cancelled prior to May 21, 2020. If you wish for someone else to go in your place, please either update your registration or contact us with the name of the person cancelling and the information for the new attendee, no later than May 21, 2020. Attendees can receive refunds up to 7 days before your event start date. If you wish for someone else to go in your place, please cancel and refund your registration no later than 7 days before the event and register the new participant. Funds are non-transferable. When does registration open for the Conference?
Registration for the CYF-SOC Conference 2020, Youth Substance Use: Risk, Resilience, Reconnection opens on March 16, 2020.

Continuing Education Credits

What happens if I am late?
The Academy for Professional Excellence’s Continuing Education (CE) provider agreement stipulates that participants cannot receive CEs if they miss more than 15 minutes of an in-person event. However, your ticket is still valid and you are welcome to enter the conference and participate. Visit our website here for more information on our CE policies.

When will I be able to get my CEs?
CE certificates are available for download on the RIHS Learning Management System (LMS) one week after the conference.

I attended the Conference, but it’s not letting me get my CEs. Why won’t I get CEs?
Attendees who miss more than 15 minutes of any portion of an in-person event are not eligible to receive CEs. Attendees must also sign in, sign out, and complete an evaluation to be eligible to receive CEs.

Who can apply for the CYF-SOC Conference Scholarship?
CYF-SOC Conference Scholarship Applications are open to Family Partners, Parent Partners, or Youth Partners.

What are important Scholarship application dates? 
The application process closes April 20, 2020. Scholarship recipients will be contacted by May 8, 2020.

When will I know if I am a Scholarship recipient? 
Calls will be made to Scholarship recipients the week of May 8, 2020. All Scholarship applicants will receive an email from one of our CYF-SOC Scholarship Coordinators.

How can I check on the status of my Scholarship application? 
You can check on your Scholarship application status by calling or emailing RIHS at or (619) 594-0923.
