Intended Audience: Lineworkers interested in learning techniques to predict/reduce the risk of dangerous behavior in the workplace

Intended Objectives:

  • Conduct assessments for the potential of violent behavior
  • Identify techniques for reducing dangerous behavior
  • Examine contemporary research and field tested professional practices for reducing violent behavior

Topics Include:

  • Risk assessment – techniques for early detection of violence
  • How to avoid exacerbating an emotionally charged interactions
  • How to channel or defuse hostile behaviors
  • Dealing with Mentally ill or substance abusing clients
  • The aftermath of trauma – stages of recovery
