Trainer Biography
Diana Venegas
I am Diana Venegas, and I have dedicated the past 15 years to working with parents involved in the Juvenile Dependency Court and Child Family Wellbeing. My extensive experience has allowed me to support and advocate for families navigating these challenging systems.
I am honored to serve on the San Diego County Child Family Strengthening Advisory Board, where I contribute to shaping policies and practices that enhance family support and resilience. Recently, I was invited to participate in a convening through Casey Families, focusing on transforming child welfare from mandated reporting to mandated supporting. This initiative aligns with my commitment to creating a more supportive and empowering environment for families.
For the past three years, I have been actively involved in workgroups dedicated to developing the Community Resource Guide. This guide is designed to support mandated reporters who are trying to decide if they should call child protection. It also offers a new way for the community to connect families who do not need child protection intervention with the support they need. My work is driven by a deep belief in the power of community and the importance of providing holistic support to families in need.
In 2024, I was requested and served as a panelist at the Early Childhood We Can’t Wait Conference. Additionally, in 2023, I was asked to speak as a panelist at the Juvenile Dependency Court Virtual Town Hall and at Child Family Wellbeing in San Diego County. These opportunities have allowed me to share my insights and advocate for better support systems for families.
For the past year, I have also participated in Partner in Equity Meetings, working to transform child welfare and address disparities within the system. These efforts are crucial in ensuring that all families receive fair and equitable support.
I am passionate about fostering positive change and look forward to continuing my efforts to strengthen and support families in our community.
