Rex Sheridan, MFT
My name is Rex Sheridan am a Clinical Director with New Alternatives Inc. at San Pasqual Academy, where I manage the day rehabilitation services for adolescents and transitional age youth in a residential education program. I have been privileged to have over 16 years of experience working with youth and transitional age youth and their families, and 10 years in management/supervision and providing professional development training to parents, educators, staff, volunteers, and mental health providers. I hold a B.A. in Therapeutic and Community Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University, a Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Fuller School of Psychology, and have been licensed as a marriage and family therapist for 10 years. My passion during the time that I have worked with youth in various settings has been to more deeply understand how their experiences and relationships have impacted them. Through this, I seek to learn and share these perspectives with others who serve our youth in order to better understand their strengths and challenges as we all seek to provide informed, compassionate, and trauma sensitive support to the youth in our communities and ultimately improve their safety, self concept, and healthy attachment.
