Mark Katz, PHD
Mark Katz is a clinical and consulting psychologist, and author of the books, On Playing a Poor Hand Well, and Children Who Fail at School but Succeed at Life, both published by W.W. Norton and Company. In these books, Mark explores the lessons learned from those who have overcome adverse childhood experiences, and discusses ways of incorporating these lessons into our existing system of care. For over 30 years, Mark has served as the Director of Learning Development Services, an educational, psychological and neuropsychological center in San Diego, California. For to close 30 years, he also served as both a Supervising and Consulting Psychologist at San Diego Center for Children. Mark is a contributing editor for Attention Magazine, and also writes the magazine’s promising practices column. He has been a keynote presenter at a number of national conferences, and has conducted numerous trainings for schools, healthcare organizations, and community groups working to improve educational and mental health systems of care.
