The candidates chosen to participate are mutually agreed-upon by county representatives and LIA staff in early October each year, and candidates are notified of their acceptance into the program shortly thereafter.

NOTE: when you apply you must agree to:

  • attend all LIA training sessions
  • participate in a 360 assessment process that identifies your leadership strengths and development areas
  • develop an Individual Development Plan that identifies concrete, measurable steps to address the development areas identified in your 360 assessment
  • complete an Action Learning Project with a cross-county team of LIA participants
  • read leadership literature and engage in book club discussions with other LIA participants
