The Academy for Professional Excellence provides a variety of competency based training through its many programs and contracts.
PCWTA provides child welfare training to the Southern Region counties of Imperial, San Diego, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino.
Tribal STAR provides technical assistance to Tribes, tribal programs, and county social workers working with Tribal youth as they go from foster care to emancipation.
SACHS provides strategic planning, training, policy development, advocacy and research for the welfare directors in Imperial, San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
LIA provides Executive Development training under direction of the SACHS directors.
NEHS provides training tailored to the needs of those organizations contracting with the Academy.
Project MASTER provides a first step towards establishment of an Adult Protective Services (APS) training academy that will provide standardized, advanced level training for APS workers throughout the state of California.
BHETA is a contract of San Diego County Mental Health. Initiated February 2007, this program is designed to provide San Diego County Behavioral Health System with training that will increase competency in culture, recovery, and resiliency as required to outreach, assess, and treat severely mental ill adults, children, and their families.
The Academy for Professional Excellence is authorized to offer continuing educational credits for the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, California Board of Registered Nursing and the California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators. Those designated courses will have the approved credits and the appropriate agency listed under the course description.
